“Wars and Children”
Inspired by the “Baby Helma Tragedy” in Iran:
Dear Friends of Fenamizah,
We cordially invite you to contribute to our upcoming international exhibition with your cartoons and portrait caricatures.
Description:
• In March 2026, during the US-Israeli military attacks, a bomb struck a house in the Iranian city of Tabriz. Eighteen-month-old Baby Helma was rescued alive from the rubble, but she became the sole survivor of her family of five. This tragedy sparked massive outrage both in Iran and across the globe, turning Helma into a powerful symbol of innocence. The images of “Baby Helma” regarding the subject are attached.
The Call:
• We invite anti-war artists from all around the world to submit their work to Fenamizah. Through the symbolic story of Baby Helma, we aim to shed light not only on her profound loss, but also on the plight of all children, women, and innocent civilians who lose their lives in conflicts, exposing the horrific face of war once again.
Outcome:
A selection of all submitted works will be compiled into a digital catalog and shared with the participants. In addition, we plan to exhibit these works in a physical exhibition at a future date.
Terms and Conditions of Participation:
Theme: The primary focus of the exhibition is portrait drawings of Baby Helma. However, artworks depicting the horrific face of war through the general theme of “children” will also be accepted.
Format: Artworks must be submitted in A3 size, 300 dpi resolution, and JPEG format.
Limit: Each artist can participate with a maximum of 1 artwork.
Biography: Participants are required to submit a Word document
containing their first name, last name, and a short biography along with their submission.
Submission Address: Artworks must only be sent to the dedicated
exhibition email address listed below. (Submissions sent to the magazine’s regular editorial email will not be considered). sergi.fenamizah@gmail.com
